An emotionally intelligent approach to pageantry and enviromentalism
Beauties for a Cause, the 51 state and District of Columbia delegates vying for the title of Miss Earth USA 2022, traversed to the City Beautiful, Orlando, Florida, in search of the national title. Following the Miss Earth international protocols regarding COVID-19, the delegates, as well as Miss Earth USA staff, would welcome the opportunity to compete as well as promote the earth friendly agenda.
Leading the industry as an eco-friendly organization, in addition to the competitions, Miss Earth USA spent the week showcasing its commitment to the Earth by conducting a park cleanup collecting over 400 pounds of refuse, visiting the clear, aqua waters of Blue Springs State Park while visiting Florida’s famous manatees, as well as a wildlife refuge. It was Beauties for a Cause at its most beautiful.
In addition to the Earth conscious excursions, the contestants were feted during the glamorous White Party, New Year’s celebration, red carpet photo shoots, and more.
However, this was a competition, and the title of Miss Earth USA 2022 was at stake. Following Interview and the stage competitions of Runway, Swimwear, and Evening Gown, a Top 20 Miss Earth USA 2022 emerged. These ladies would once again take the stage in the national finals: Miss New York Earth Marizza Delgado, Miss Nevada Earth Jory Kratz, Miss Pennsylvania Earth Natalia Salmon, Miss Connecticut Earth Brielle Simmons, Miss Oregon Earth Saphyone White, Miss Iowa Earth Rose Pidgorodetska, Miss New Mexico Earth Ilyhanee Robles, Miss Alabama Earth Charnae Ware, Miss New Jersey Earth Teni Bello, Miss Louisiana Earth Danielle Purtell, Miss Texas Earth Nikki Najera, Miss Missouri Earth Tyler Prugh, Miss District of Columbia Earth Faith Porter, Miss South Dakota Earth Madeline Delp, Miss North Carolina Earth Hannah Welborn-Lewis, Miss Oklahoma Earth Emma Loney, and Miss South Carolina Earth Savannah Bethea.
The stage was set for Miss Earth USA 2022 and the Runway Presentation, which would narrow the field to the Top 12 Miss Earth USA representatives of VA, OR, OK, DC, IA, CO, NM, PA, SC, CT, SD, and NV. The 12 would compete onstage in both Swimwear and Evening Gown which would result in the announcement of the Top 5 Miss Earth USA contestants.
In the final presentation, the Miss Earth USA Top 5 would be presented with one word, and she would then define it to the best of her ability. The final words consisted of Empowerment, Success, Diversity, Leadership, and Sisterhood and each was answered succinctly and professionally to the approval of the live audience.
Following the tabulation, the Miss Earth USA 2022 Elemental Court were proclaimed: Miss Earth Eco 2022 – Oklahoma, Miss Earth Fire 2022 – North Carolina, Miss Earth Water 2022 – Connecticut, and Miss Earth Air 2022 – District of Columbia. The Elemental Court is more than a runner-up; they are recognized titleholders who will, in addition to Miss Earth USA, address critical environmental concerns throughout the year as ambassadors for the Miss Earth organization.
With the Elemental Court announced, Natalia Salmon of Pennsylvania welcomed the applause of the audience and her sister queens as she was bestowed the crown and banner of Miss Earth USA 2022.
