Pageant or Prom, the night can depend upon your lips staying as fresh and luscious as ever
I remember my prom experience like it was yesterday. I felt like I was walking the red carpet at the Academy Awards or the Oscars. I spent months dreaming up my dress, my hair, and my makeup. It was like I could see it as a clear vision. But when it came down to the day I had been dreaming of, it was all so magical until I got my lipstick on, and it didn’t stay long enough for the photos.
In this tutorial, I am going to show you the perfect way to apply your Perfect Pouty Lip, give you some tips that will help your lips last forever, and I will suggest some great lip combos that you can try, as well, just in case the one featured doesn’t match your dress.

Below I am listing all of the products that we used on Savannah. This will help you recreate this look for yourself. I also have a board called Prom GLAM on my Liz Everett GLAM Pinterest account that will help you get even more inspired to rock your GLAM on prom night! Step 1: Prep Your Lips
The week before prom I suggest you amp up your beauty routine from moisturizer to exfoliator. A great lip scrub will also help. I suggest either Tree Hut’s Sugar Lips scrub or Burt’s Bees Lip Treatment Lip Scrub, both of which you can get at Ulta. These topical treatments will help you smoothe your lips, as you prepare them to be the center piece of conversation the night of the big event. I would also suggest a great vitamin E balm. I use Jamye Shaw Cosmetics on clients, and I also love the classic EOS. Both of these replenish the moisture your lips may be missing, while revitalizing your natural color as well. It is a win/win if you exfoliate and use the vitamin E.
Step 2: Line It Up!
Lip liner is something we do not use often enough. It is such a great tool that will help bring out the gorgeous shape of your lips, while also giving you the extra glamour you need. Be sure that when you start lining, you always begin from the corner inward. Keep the strokes solid as you build your pouty lip.
You will also want to step it up a notch by adding an extra 2 or 3 lines deep to your lip game. This will ensure that the outline is secure for the night. I have learned to color the entire lip with the pencil if I am afraid the color will slip. This helps the lipstick have something to grab on to.
Step 3: Lipstick is Love!
When we envisioned this lip, we wanted something fresh and fab. We had no idea it would be on trend with the Pantone color of the year for 2019! This color is so fab! It is Dirty Peach, which is one of Kylie Cosmetic’s highest selling lipstick shades. I love that this color truly looks amazing on everyone.
In this tutorial, you see that we are brushing the lipstick on with a BH Cosmetics brush. I personally use a brush because I like a very definite line that I sometimes can’t get by just using the lipstick itself. You will notice that the technique starts on the outside of the lip, bringing the color in.
