The bright-eyed talent of the iPOP! Modeling and Talent Convention traveled to Los Angeles to experience the California Dream

 

California Dreamin’, the iconic song for those of us who can remember, embodied the fairytale lifestyle and imagery of southern California, and the promise that it imbued. In a triumphant return to Los Angeles, the home of glamour and the stars, the talent of tomorrow and of the iPOP! Modeling and Talent Convention descended upon The City of Angeles for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet agents, scouts, casting directors, record producers, and more from throughout the industry in the quest of being discovered and making the foray on to the runways and screens of the world.

The Stars Are Out

Someday soon, we just may see the talent of iPOP! walking the fabulous runways of the world’s fashion capitals, showcased in worldwide print publications, or entertaining us on both the small and big screens in blockbuster productions. iPOP!’s discoveries have appeared in movies such as Unbroken, Tron, Pan, the Twilight Saga, Hercules, The Expendables, Pitch Perfect, The Lightning Thief, X-Men, The Conjuring II, Joy, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days, and more.

Showcasing the future

The bi-annual iPOP! Modeling and Talent Convention returned to Los Angeles, albeit with COVID-19 protocols, and immediately set the standard with the arrival of member schools and their multitudes of talent. Hosted at the famed Millennium Biltmore, the glamorous scene unfolded as it became obvious that the host venue was unlike any other. iPOP! has become a part of history as the Millennium Biltmore was the original founding home and host of the famed Oscars presentation. From the ornate entry lobby, glass ceilings and hardwood walls of the grandiose main hallway, to the vaulted decorative timber beams and European designed areas, and even the historical pictures of celebrities and stars of a by-gone era, everyone quickly realized the star-making opportunity presented during the iPOP! Modeling and Talent Convention. If only the hallowed walls could talk.

History, celebrity, and glamour aside, the iPOP! Modeling and Talent Convention is both a performing and learning opportunity. It’s the same opportunity grasped by such recognizable names as Josh Duhamel, Olivia Holt, Garrett Hedlund, Madison Wolfe, Shameik Moore, Paulina Olszynski, Albert Tsai, Jillian Nelson, and countless others.

iPopping Opportunities

Throughout the week of the iPOP! experience, numerous seminars and training options are available for the new talent. Talent, as well as parents of those younger individuals, will learn about the industry from those who know: the actual agents, scouts, and managers. Want to learn the difference between agents and managers? There’s a seminar for that. How should you prepare for an audition? That seminar is a must attend at iPOP! Want a critique of a monologue? Advice is waiting. Think you’re ready for the runway? A modeling coach is ready to lend the expert advice you need. Write your own songs and music? Recording professionals need to hear it. If it involves the entertainment industry, it’s at iPOP!
