Looking for your prom Prince Charming isn’t always easy. But fear not – we’ve found two athletic California dreamboats who spill their dating do’s and don’ts.
T.J. and Jordan are two very smart, athletic, and handsome brothers. T.J. is currently in college playing football, but during his high school days he was known as “the guy that most of the girls wished they could go to the prom with.” He was so popular, in fact, that girls even asked him to escort them to the dances at school. Jordan, the other hunk in this family of dream dates, is still attending high school, where he’s running track and getting ready for his prom this spring.

When you’re a high school girl getting ready to go to prom, T.J. and Jordan are the type of guys you dream will ask you to join them on this, the biggest night of your life. “I think prom is second only to getting married,” Jordan tells me. “That’s why it’s worth all the fuss.” But how any girl actually catches a dream like T.J. or Jordan can seem like a mystery novel with the last page torn out of the book. So we decided, why not asked these smart and handsome guys just what are some qualities that they look for when deciding on who they are willing to date.

Here is what they revealed.

First, there are two big mistakes these fellows advise you to avoid at all costs.

Big Wrong No. 1: Never ask for the date until you first let the person whom you are interested in know that you care about them. When you demonstrate you care first, T.J. and Jordan say, it increases your chances of hearing a “yes” for an answer when you ask that person to go out with you.

Big Wrong No. 2: The second mistake involves miscommunication. Don’t send the wrong message to mislead other people into thinking that you are not interested in dating them when you actually are. Many girls, T.J. and Jordan have found, play hard-to-get. “For some reason,” says T.J., “they like for you to chase them, so they can give you the impression that they are not sure if they want to go with you.”
