feature ● miss america alumni T he Miss America Pageant’s return “home” this year was especially meaningful to the many “Alumni” volunteers across the country who traveled to Atlantic City to celebrate by being a part of the ex- citing events. The Alumni committee held it’s seventh annual Alumni Reception in the beautiful Trump Plaza Hotel. Special recognition awards for commitment and service were presented to Jimmy Exum (TN, 45 yrs), Wayne Hicks (NC, 46 yrs), and the Wm. Schoppy, Inc. Jewelry Co. in recognition of their families’ commitment and service to the State and National Pageants. Memories and friendships are the heart of the Alumni Committee’s social events at the national Pageant. The State and Local Pageants Alumni Committee welcomes all members of the Miss Amer- ica “family” each year to the reunion events. □ Hicks Picks - (L-R) McNeil Chestnut, honoree Wayne Hicks (NC), and Jack Lawson (MT).
