Passion for PINK
Skin tones can be kept basic this
summer by simply sticking to a
familiar rosey foundation
ummer time is the season for beaches, pools and tan-
ning. This summer is all about looking bronzed and
using shimmer. Bronzers and countless shades of pink
will be your best friends for this season, whether it’s
blush, eye shadows or even lip color. Pinks are great for
all skin tones and can help enhance any natural or dramatic look.
I decided to use this makeup look on our model Madison to en-
hance the natural glow in her skin. I used a lot of shimmery pinks
in all aspects of this look. This style is perfect for summer since it
is so easy to achieve without having to use an excessive amount of
products. Not only will you feel and look refreshed with this tech-
nique, but you also learn tips on how to have your makeup last
throughout those hot summer days.
A great tip before applying any foundation is wearing a primer
on your face. Using a tinted moisturizer or a light coverage foun-
dation is a great way to let your natural skin show through without
wearing heavy makeup. You can cover
any blemishes with concealer.
Another fantastic tip is using a lip
stain for both your lips and cheeks.

Lip stains come in two formulas, in a tube or in a little pot—tube
being the more common right now. The easiest way to apply it is
with your fingers by taking a little bit of the product out of the
container and then gently patting the lip or cheek, applying the
color very lightly, building up and adding more color as you go.
You do want to work rather quickly, because once it dries, it stays
where it is. It’s a great way of getting the most use of your product.
PRETTY IN PINK
First, I prepped Madison’s skin with a mattifying moisturizer to
help reduce the shine and oiliness of her skin throughout the
steamy summer day. Then, I added a light layer of primer to help
her makeup last. I used a tinted moisturizer and covered any blem-
ishes with concealer to give the appearance of flawless skin and set
all her face makeup with a light dust of powder.
Secondly, I dabbed some eye primer all over her eyelids and
blended it into her skin. You won’t regret the few seconds it takes
